Interstitial Ho:YAG Laser Treatment of BPH
- Autorzy: Rolf Muschter
- Opublikowano: Department of Urology, Diakoniekrankenhaus Rotenburg / Wümme
- Opis:
- During the past 10 years, several so-called minimally invasive procedures for the treatmentof BPH have been introduced, many of them utilizing laser technology. The term‚ lasertreatment of BPH‘, however, summarizes a variety of techniques using different laserwavelengths, application systems and surgical techniques to achieve contrasting tissueeffects such as incision, resection, vaporization, or coagulation. Dependent on variousfactors such as the laser wavelength or its penetration depth, respectively, but also thepower density, which is a function of laser output power, applicator size or beam divergence, distance between applicator and irradiated surface, and application technique, theresulting tissue effect is either coagulation or vaporization.

Medium-power Holmium Lasers in Endourology
- Autorzy: J. Rassweiler, T. Frede,
- Opublikowano: Department of Urology, SLK Kliniken Heilbronn, University of Heidelberg, Germany
- Opis:
- The first laser introduced for endourological applications was the Nd:YAG laser in the earlyeighty’s. At that time only the Nd:YAG laser was available with power levels high enough forsurgical applications and a wavelength (1064 nm) which could be transferred through highlyflexible quartz-fibers necessary for endoscopic applications. First introduced for many differentapplications its main application still is its ability to coagulate relatively large volumes of tissuee.g. when coagulating bladder tumors or genital warts.
